32 Weeks on Memorial Day

Emily is 32 weeks old today!

 She's sitting up well...

She's also kinda starting to get into the crawling position (oh no!). I'm not ready for mobile baby.

(She was up on her knees for a split second, but I wasn't fast enough to catch it.)

She's in love with this yellow ball...

And like all normal kids, has her fussy moments...

1st Tooth

Em is getting her first tooth! I tried to capture it on film today, though it's still a very tiny little tooth.

Nevertheless, here it is! (she just ate avocado and sweet potatoes, so she's a little messy)

A dress making failure

I attempted to make a pillowcase dress for Emily yesterday while she was napping. But I set myself up for failure before I even got started. Here's why...
#1. I didn't use a pillowcase.
#2. I only used materials/fabric I already had.
#3. I didn't use a pattern.
#4. I didn't take any measurements of my little girl.
#5 I had seen a few weeks ago a dress that my friend Bonnie W. had made for her granddaughter and I just went by what I remembered that dress looking like.
#6. Emily is much bigger than I thought she was. See?? The dress was a little snug on her.

And in case that one didn't bring a chuckle to your life, here's another shot.

Yeah, pretty bad. But it was my first time at trying to sew something other than burp cloths (click here to see that post.) So I'll just take it apart and make more burp cloths I guess.  That is, until I get a dress making lesson from Mrs. Bonnie W! (or Kris J!)

PS- Emily graduated from her physical therapy today! We are so proud of how well she conquered this torticollis and straightened up so quickly. Way to go Angel!

Bye bye to our first child...Marley

We are sad to announce that Marley is getting a new home today.

  He's been a wonderful first "child" for us. We will miss him a lot, but we want a better life for him than the lack-of-attention he's getting from us these days. He's going to a home that already has dachshunds and kids. He'll get lots of love there!

31 weeks

Emily and I had a little mini photoshoot this morning. Here she is at 31 weeks old!

She is cutting her first tooth. Bottom left. So far so good, she hasn't been complaining about it.

She's just as cute as can be!

3rd Anniversary

Matt and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary last week.

My how time flies.

3 years have flown by...and now with Emily, it is flying even faster! I love you Babe!

She's 7 months old today

Our little girl is 7 months old today.

She's 15lbs, 6 oz now. Growing!

She's a great sitter.

30 weeks

I took these on my phone, so it's not great. But she was so gosh-darn cute in all her pink and white!

Sitting up tall

Emily is a very good sitter now. She still wobbles, but not as often as she used to. We spent the evening sitting up on the floor. 

Then she got tired.

Off to bed!

Emily's first words

Emily loves her "Mama!" She said it before "Dada!" I am one happy gal.

She actually has 3 consonants she says. "Ya ya", "ba ba" and now "ma ma."

29 weeks... spent in the bath tub

Little Miss is 29 weeks old today. Next week it will be 7 months.

 She is such a joy to be around. Always smiling and laughing at the most random things.

 I love being her mom. It was really a treat to get to be with my mom (and MIL) on Mother's Day. My very first one!

28 weeks old

Emily is 28 weeks old today. That makes her 6 1/2 months.
Her menu has increased drastically lately. She now eats rice cereal, green beans, carrots, pears, and bananas.

 She is sitting up so well and holding her head up like a pro. We've moved to every-other-week therapy now, so that's really exciting.
