36 weeks

Howdy, 36 weeks! It's good to see you!

She started crawling last Friday...but she's still very slow. And we finally gave up the swaddle this week! Yay! We've been doing one arm out for a month or so, but not anymore! I'm so happy!

She also ate her first cracker today. I think she liked it!

She didn't really like the sand. But I have some other cute ones to share in a few days.

We had a great time in Florida with all of my hubby's family. Emily took her 11th & 12th plane ride. She should really be racking up the Frequent Flier miles now!

There was just a little oil on the beach. More like tar balls that just rested in the sand...nothing that kept us from enjoying the waves. It was a great vacation!

8 months old

Emily is 8 months old today, but unfortunately, I don't have any great pictures of her to post. You'll have to manage with one from my phone instead....

I thought I'd go back a few weeks and post one of us after Emily's baby dedication at church.

It's also a phone pic, so it's not the best. This was after lunch that day. The day was really special; they call the baby dedication a Parent Dedication/Baby Introduction actually. We as the parents are declaring that we will raise our daughter in a Christian home, and teach her about Jesus, and do our best to raise her God's way with His help. It made me think--yes we are dedicated to doing just that! The rest is up to the Holy Spirit and his activity in her life, but I pray everyday that Emily will come to know Jesus early in her life and have a true, personal relationship with her Savior!

34 Weeks at the Grandparents

Emily spent her 34th week with her grandparents. Aren't they adorable!?

Trying out Photoshop

My sweet hubby bought me photoshop 8 for our anniversary in May. I don't really know how to use it. But today I sat down for a few minutes and tried.

See if you can tell which picture has been "photoshopped."

first or second?

I tried some layers and adjustments and ended up brightening the picture a bit. So, yes, #2 has been photoshopped. Is it better or worse than the original?? 

Thoughts? Hints? Suggestions?? I bet many of you are photoshoppers and could help me out with some hints!

I'm going to keep fiddling and see what other mess I can make of these pictures. Bear with me...

33 weeks-I hope she's not allergic to grass!

 I took Emily's pictures outside today. It was her first time to sit in the grass.

I discovered something, though. If there are pine needles around, she will not look at Mom! 

I'll just keep playing with nature, and ignore the lady with the camera, trying to get my attention (and a smile)

Wait...I'll kinda look...

Nope, back to the pine needles!

Oh, and happy 33 weeks Little Girl!

1st Swim

I blew up our baby pool today and put Emily in it for her first swim!

She's so funny. Here's a video of her splashing around. She doesn't like it when water gets in her face!

I think she enjoyed it. It's hard to tell from her expressions, she's always so serious when she's checking things out!

Getting ready for Baby Dedication

I took Emily's picture in her baby dedication dress yesterday. She's going to be beautiful at church tomorrow! But maybe she'll actually shoot me a smile tomorrow...
