Still Waiting....

I didn't realize that buying a house would be such a test of patience, but it is. We're still waiting to get the heater checked out. The house has radiant heat- a magical, expensive type of heat that emanates outward from inside the walls. Or something like that.

So no news, still waiting. We were supposed to close tomorrow- Thursday. But I doubt that will happen.

In the meantime, here are a few more pictures from our trip to Asheville. Yes, I'm goofy. And yes, it looks like Sr. picture- but the leaves were just so pretty!

House Update

No, this isn't a Hugh Laurie update for all you fans out there....

We had the inspection done on the house we're trying to buy. No one can figure out the heating system - can't turn it on, can't find out how to turn it on, etc. So as soon as we can get a technician out there to explain it to us, or fix it if it's broken, then we're golden! 

I've made a working list of things to do in the house, both long term and short term. So far it's 26 items! Anything from paint the vent covers from a beautiful brass to white to match the ceiling to convince Matt that we need new Toto toilets! They're the best!

So we'll see how many of those items actually happen!

We're moving...

Hello all,

Yes it's true, the wait is finally over! We bought a house and close on Halloween!

If you are a Memphian, then smile, you get to keep us here for a while longer....the house is in Lakeland! If you are an Austonian  (or anywhere else in the world) then you will have to come to Memphis to find us for a while longer! :-)

So, the house is an older home (built in '68)  but sits

 on the prettiest 4 acres you've ever seen! It is in great shape, just needs a little TLC and a lot of updating!  As soon as we get in and settled, you will all be invited over for a fun housewarming, I'm sure!  

As for now, if you are a painter, electrician, gardner, tile-floorer, then we need your help! We'll be going room by room to give it a facelift and I'm sure we could use your help!

Little Bit of Asheville

Matt took me to Asheville, NC for my birthday weekend. We went to the Biltmore Estates (amazing! 175,000 square foot house with 43 bathrooms!) Here are just a few pictures.

No news

I wish I had something clever, or cool pictures, or a funny story to post today. But I don't. Just life as usual. I'm trying to decide if I should go play volleyball tonight. Or what to eat for dinner. Popcorn? Sandwich? Eggroll? Cereal? Awh, life's dilemmas.

TiVo is recording You've Got Mail, but I've seen it a half dozen times. Marley's sitting on the leather recliner, pouting cause he can't go run around the front yard and eat bugs. And I've got a Crye-Leike listings magazine opened to my left, looking for our dream home.

Such is a normal day. Thought I'd share. Hope yours is equally delightful!

New York City

I joined my mother in law, my sister in law, and my niece on a trip to NYC this past weekend. Here are a few pictures from our great trip! 

It was so fun; I wish we had stayed one day longer to do more shopping!
