Weekend at the Lake

Matt and I spent the weekend at the lake with his folks. We read books, sunned, watched movies, fished (for about 3 minutes) and enjoyed lots of good food and friends.

Sky & Daniel in Zambia

I just finished Skype-ing my friend Sky in Zambia, Africa! That means we just talked via the computer for free! In fact, because my mac has a camera on it, she could see me and hear me, but I could just hear her, like a phone.

Anyway, it's so cool! I have only talked to Sky one other time via Skype, and I guess that was last year sometime. Their internet isn't the best, so she can only do it when she's in the city (Lusaka, Zambia).  They are full time missionaries with the IMB there, so it was great to catch up!

I even found out that when they are in the states later this summer, they'll be driving through Memphis and will stay with us for a night! Yay! That is the best news I've heard all week! She and her husband, Daniel, stayed with me for a few days a few years ago, and that's the last time we've seen each other, live and in person (Sky and I were roommates in college). So I am super pumped! She'll finally get to meet Matt. I can't believe one of my best friends has yet to meet my husband. So weird. Well, have a great Saturday everyone! Call someone you love and tell 'em you think they rock. It will make their day, and yours too.

A week in Cabo San Lucas

The Riu Santa Fe, Cabo, Mexico

Matt and I went to Cabo April 25 for our 1st Anniversary. We spent a week in the sun. Well, I spent a week and Matt a few days less. He got sick and spent the last 3 days of our vacation in the room, sleeping. It was really sad.
But before the sickness hit, we had a great time! Met some new friends, Joetta and Matt, from Tulsa.

Goodbye Grace & Cody

My friends Grace and Cody are moving to Austin next week, so I'm going to a goodbye dinner for them tonight. It should be fun. My hubby is out of town, so I'm going by myself. So sad.
But I'm super pumped to go see my friend Amber's new house. She's an interior decorator so I have heard her house is phenominal. I can't wait to see what she's done. Her last house was beautiful, but they've really upgraded and I can't wait to see it.
It will also be fun to see some old friends....since I changed churches last year I don't get to see these people as often, and I miss them!! So this will be a nice evening, though sad to see Grace and Cody go.
However, there will be more people that I love living in Austin, TX, so I'll have to get there to see everyone!

Everyone else is doing it...

It seems like everyone has a blog....well now we do too! Welcome to the world of Matt and Ari, from Memphis, TN. 

Yesterday was our first anniversary and we had a fantastic day on the Harley, cleaning rental properties, buying wedding bands, going to dinner, eating fabulous year old wedding cake (thanks, Carahills!) and champagne!

Currently, I don't have much to post about, but I'll think long and hard and become a better blogger. Wait, here's a picture of our puppy, Marley the dachshund.
